The research group produces knowledge by interfacing Language, Brazilian Sign Language (teaching and learning process, linguistic aspects, description and interpreting, deaf education, reading and writing of the deaf, deaf education policies and processes); Special Education and Inclusion (theory, pedagogical practice, legislation, curriculum, specialized educational assistance, policies, design of teaching material adapted for Special and Inclusive Education, and schooling processes for the disabled from the perspective of Special Education and Distance Education), Distance Education (theory, pedagogical practice, interfaces, collaboration, interaction and interactivity, and legislation aimed at teacher training, and teacher-student relationship in the virtual regular/special classroom); and Technologies (Inclusive Education and assistive technology).
