About the Program:

The Postdoctoral Program in Linguistic Studies has researchers who undertake postdoctoral studies under the supervision of faculty members from the Program. Postdoctoral students conduct research, teach courses together with their supervisors, co-supervise research, and work in research groups. Postdoctoral studies can be undertaken with or without funding from funding agencies.

The Postgraduate Program in Linguistic Studies (PPGEL) welcomes Postdoctoral projects, on a continuous basis, following the rules of PPGEL Resolution 002/2020, of August 10, 2020.

How to apply: Foreign candidates who want to apply to a postdoctoral program at PPGEL are expected to send a proposal containing the following:

  • Personal documents: passport, RNE (national registry of foreigners), and CPF (individual taxpayer registration);
  • Note: Postdoctoral candidates who do not expect funding from national agencies are not required to provide their CPF when applying;
  • Updated CV (preferably on the Lattes Platform available at https://lattes.cnpq.br/);
  • Research project and Work Plan;
  • Acceptance letter from a supervisor (who must be a permanent member at PPGEL);
  • The Postdoctoral Proposal must be submitted by the supervisor through an online platform named Sistema Eletrônico de Informações (SEI). The PPGEL Board will assess the application considering both the requirements above and the applicant’s Postdoctoral Project adequacy to the Program’s focus area and the supervisor’s line of research and research project.

Note: For enrollment, candidates must have a personal accident insurance covering their period of stay at the university.

How it is conducted?

  • With or without scholarship: Students may apply for scholarships provided by Brazilian funding agencies. One of such scholarships is PrInt-CAPES-UFU, described in Portuguese at www.propp.ufu.br.
