With the expansion of science and technological innovations, different areas of knowledge have advanced and combined different research perspectives. Researchers in general delimit their types and objects of study, distinguish their methods from those of the others, and affiliate to certain theoretical schools, thereby contributing to strengthening various areas scientifically and professionally. Such efforts require measurement, and Bibliometrics and Scientometrics, sub-areas of Information Sciences, are important methodological tools for quantitative and qualitative description of scientific capital development in one or more areas, or even in a country. GETTEC develops bibliometric and scientometric studies and research in Linguistics and Applied Linguistics, focusing on Translation and Interpreting Studies. It aims at bibliometric and scientometric analyses of the scientific production in these areas, with a view to better training Translation and Interpreting researchers.
