The research group seeks to understand the material form of photography, considering the functioning of discourse memory and silence in producing (in)visibility. It approaches photography as a symbolic object from the perspective of language studies. It analyzes the photographic gesture, the relationship between photography and sensible reality, as well as the relationship between photography and other forms of language in multimedia productions, with a special interest in the transformations brought forward by digital technology.
